About PiXEL BOX Photography
Daniel Mayo owner of PiXEL BOX Photography
I started my photography journey in 2006 after a serious work related back injury. At first photography helped me overcome my injury both mentally and physically. It was something that helped me not think about the pain, it was something that got me moving. I started by taking photos of flowers and of wildlife just for fun. I joined an online photo sharing community where I got feedback and learned how to use my cameras, lenses, and lighting. I soon learned all about how to use these tools to produce amazing photos.
This is where my hobby soon turned into a passion! I was having a blast sharing images and saw the joy they could bring to people. I learned to slow down and see the beauty in the smaller things in life and how to capture moments that happen faster than we can see with our eyes.
Soon I was entering photo contest and winning! I was approached by several different authors and published.
2011 is when I shot my first wedding. After that I knew that I wanted to be a portrait photographer! The joy that I saw in the bride and groom when I showed them the final images was amazing!

Photoshop 'Fantasy' Portrait Sessions
This is one of my favorite things to do, it allows me to get super creative with people! Besides who doesn't want to be a superhero or princess sometimes!? That's right you get to play dress up and I get to capture you as the character and then I put the magic of Photoshop to work to bring it all to life!
